Hi ladies and gents! I’ve been doing a lot of “minimal beauty” looks lately (I started working from home) and wanted to start a new series to talk about my favorite minimal products and tips & tricks to get away with using less! Today I wanted to share my “No Makeup Makeup” routine. Let’s go!
Step 1. Tinted Moisturizer – I usually don’t wear foundation for these looks. But I still like something to even out my skin. These two are my fave. Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 and Tarte Tarteguard Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20. The shitty thing about tinted moisturizers or BB creams is that they shade range is usually super small. If you can’t find a shade that works for you, or you simply don’t want to buy another product, you can always mix a drop of your regular foundation in with your moisturizer to sheer it out.
Step 2. I use a peachy color corrector under my eyes to cancel out the dark circles. I love this one from Becca because it’s also dewy and makes you look more awake. I don’t usually add concealer under my eyes for this look, but will spot conceal any pimples or dark marks with my fave Nars concealer.
Step 3. Highlight (kind of) I love to use the Ciate London Dewy Stick – it has a balm consistency that just adds a nice dewy look to the skin without looking too highlighted (do not set this with powder it will get goopy)
Step 4. Tinted Brow gel – something to add some definition to your brows and keep them in place without being too sculpted. I love the Benefit Gimme Brow and I recently purchased the Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper Gel (longest name ever) Benefit recently recalled Gimme Brow due to recent batches not meeting their quality standards. I went to re-purchase and couldn’t find it so wanted to try something new.
Optional: Mascara – I do think adding a little bit of mascara definitely makes you look more awake. I sometimes skip this step depending on my mood. But I’ve bee loving the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara lately – so bomb! This only came out a few months ago and was named Top Beauty of 2017 by Allure Magazine!
Last Step: Lip liner + lip balm – I like to use a lip liner that is pretty close to the natural color of my lips (this is optional) I like to do this because my lips have a natural white-ish line around them that makes them look less full than they really are so I lightly fill that in with Colourpop “Skimpy” lip liner and add my favorite lip balm. I’m using the Clinique Sweet Pots currently.
TA-DA! I now look alive without doing the most. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I like to be extra – but not everyday.
