It’s my favorite time of Spring! The Sephora VIB and Ulta Platinum Sale is a great way to pick up expensive items you’ve been eying at a discount, or to restock on your favorites. The Sephora VIB sale is 15% off until April 24 and the Ulta Platinum Sale is 20% off one purchase until April 22. I wanted to show you guys what I got before the sale ends, in case you were curious.
Sephora VIB Sale
The first thing I picked up was the Marc Jacobs O!Mega Coconut Bronzer. It keeps selling out online, but I was able to find it in my local Sephora. This is a pricey bronzer, $49 – this is why I wanted to take advantage of the 15% off. I honestly think it will last a really long time though, because it is pretty much the size of my face. Also, it smells like coconuts! This bronzer is more neutral than the original O!Mega Bronzer.
Another pricey item I picked up was the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick. I have heard so many good things about this foundation. Since it is more expensive, $46, I decided to wait until I could save some money. It claims to be medium to full coverage with a natural finish. I will be doing a ‘Foundation Friday’ on this, so keep your eyes peeled! I’m in the shade Shell for reference.
My last Sephora VIB Sale purchase was the NARS Soft Matte Concealer. I’m a big fan of the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, so based on what I’ve hard about this, I wanted to give it a try. I’m going to keep it real with you guys, I already returned this. It doesn’t feel drying at all, however, throughout the day it kept getting cakey-looking under my eyes. I have dry under eyes, that may be why. But this was not for me.
Ulta Platinum Sale
The Ulta sale works a little differently than Sephora. If you are a platinum member, you will get emailed a one time use 20% off coupon that you can use towards you purchase. I ran out of my moisturizer that I was using during the winter months and wanted to try something new. I picked up the Murad Balancing Moisturizer with SPF 15. I have combination skin, with an oily T Zone. I have never found a moisturizer targeted for combination skin that has SPF. Every moisturizer I have tried with SPF is super greasy and just emphasizes my oil. I am loving this so far. It doesn’t make me greasy, and provides the sun protection I need for the warm months. This retails for $40.00.
When I saw my favorite brand, Tarte, came out with a new mattifying primer, that was all she wrote. The Tarte Mattifying Poreless Primer retails for $32.00 and claims to provide a smooth, shine-free canvas for makeup application. I agree, I love this stuff!
Last, but certainly not least, I picked up the Tarte Spellbound Glow Rainbow Highlighter. At first, I thought this was kinda of gimmicky, because it doesn’t swatch very well with your fingers. However, it is very pretty on the skin! You can use the shades individually, or swipe your brush through all of them at once to create a beautiful glow. This retails for $30.00.
Leave me a comment if you picked up anything cool from either of these two sales, I’d love to know!
