Self-Tanning Routine| Loving Tan First Impression

The hype around Loving Tan bronzing mousses is real. It has been all over YouTube and Instagram for a year at least. I recently ran out of my Fake Bake tanner, which I love, and thought I would try this out to see if it lives up to the hype. I purchased the standard mousse in dark. I prefer the 8 hour wear mousses because I can put them on before bad, and shower it off in the morning. I purchased dark because ultra dark seemed a little too much for my liking. This mousse retails for $34.95 and shipping was free! Let’s get into it..

Step 1. Exfoliate

Before apply tanner, you want to make sure that you have gotten all of the dead skin off your body so the product doesn’t cling to any dry skin, making it look patchy. I use this one from Shea Moisture.

Step 2. Apply Mousse with Mitt

I use the mitt from Tarte, which is amazing! It is super soft which makes it easy for a smooth and streak-free application. It is also machine washable so you can get more use out of it than a regular mitt. Using a mitt will prevent streaks and nasty orange hands.

With most tanners, I usually do two layers of product. With this one, since it already claims to be dark tinted I only did one .. to make sure I didn’t look like an Oompa Loompa.

Step 3. Use a Makeup Brush For Hands and Feet

Tanner will cling to your hands and feet and look kind of gross. So what I do to prevent that is use the tiniest amount of product on a makeup brush for a more even application.

Maintenance and Pro-longing your tan

Make sure you are using lots of moisturizer! Keeping your skin moisturized will help lock-in the tanning product. It will also help it fade naturally instead of patchy.

Before & After | First Impression

As you can see, I’m one pale awkward girl.

This is after 8 hours of wear, and just one layer. The color is beautiful olive-toned bronze. There are also no streaks. I must say I am pretty impressed with the product so far. Easy application and looks beautiful. I will be interested to see how long it wears and f it will fade naturally.

I’d love to hear what you’re favorite tanning products are, leave me a comment and let me know!
