I didn’t end up doing a yearly favorites because when I put everything together I realized it was stuff I had already been talking about recently, didn’t feel like being redundant. However, over the last month there are new products I have been testing out that I thought I would share!
Shea Moisture Smooth & Tame Treatment Masque:
I have very fine hair so I typically stay away from anything that says hydrating or smoothing. But in the winter, I have that super annoying static in my hair! This helps tremendously with that. It does smooth your hair but does not weigh it down. I picked this up at target.
Origin’s By All Greens Mask:
First of all, origins masks are my all time favorite. But I was a little skeptical about this because the formula is different. It comes out as a green liquid, almost cleanser-like and then as you rub it on your face it foams up and then dries. It does feel a tad tingly at first, but doesn’t sting and isn’t harsh. I really feel when I use this that it is deep cleaning my pores. I got this in an Origins gift set for Christmas, but you can buy it on it’s own at Sephora.
Maybeline Matte Lipsticks:
I have always been a fan of maybeline matte lipsticks, they remind me a lot of the Mac matte lipsticks. In general, I’m not a fan of drugstore lipsticks because they usually aren’t long-wearing, but these take the cake. I picked up two new shades: Craving Coral and Toasted Truffle. I have always gravitated towards blue-reds in the past, but lately I’ve been interesting in the red-orange-fiery lip. Here are some hand swatches and MOTD pics using these two.
Left to Right: Tarte Birthday Suit (which I will talk about in a minute) Maybeline Toasted Truffle and Craving Coral.
Tarteist Mascara and Maybeline Colossal Big Shot Mascara:
I am talking about these at once because they are great individually, but together they are amazing! I use the Tarteist mascara first and it is great for lengthening and separating. Then, I apply the colossal big shot and it adds insane volume!
NYX Angel Veil Primer:
I have always heard great things about this primer. I have also been on the hunt for my holy grail primer without luck. I’ve tried good ones, but none that blow my mind. If you have combination skin like me, I highly recommend this! It doesn’t increase oil on the skin and smooths your base without being greasy or silicone-like.
Chapstick Lip Scrub:
I am actually surprised that I like these, because I’m not the biggest fan of chaptstick in general. This is gentle enough that it doesn’t irritate your lips, but is powerful enough to actually exfoliate dry skin from your lips.
Tarte x Sephora Birthday Gift:
I am a January baby so I get my Sephora birthday gift early in the year. I am not disappointed this year at all! I chose the Tarte set which includes Tarteist lip cream in Birthday Suit and Amazonian Clay blush in Paaarty. I love these lip creams because they are long-wearing but not drying.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette:
I won’t go into too much detail because I did do a full review of the palette a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I’ve been wearing it non-stop.
At first, I didn’t understand the hype of sheet masks. But I think it was because I wasn’t using them properly. They are meant to be used multiple times throughout the week. I bought a box of ten at Marshall’s. These Aloe masks have multiple healing uses, aging, sensitive skin and acne. Love!
I received this as a Christmas gift to replace my Fitbit Charge that I broke. I chose this model because you can buy different bands for it. It is super stylish and also has text-alerts now! Also, if you have fitbit, add me! (email@example.com)
Let me know what your current favorites are, I love trying new things!
