TMI Tuesday: Dealing with Anxiety


I have suffered from Anxiety since I was a young teenager. It used to be worse, full on panic attacks at times, it has gotten better as I’ve gotten older but the struggle is still real, y’all. A lot of people suffer from anxiety, but don’t like talking about it…. so let’s break the ice. Every one’s experiences are different and what works for you might be different, but I’d thought I would share what works for me.



Yes, the dreaded “C” word. Getting into the habit of doing cardio is hard, especially if you aren’t typically active. But once you get over the hump of misery, you actually start to feel really good. If I’ve had a bad day, I will jump on the treadmill or elliptical and it works wonders.

Avoid Too Much Caffeine and Sugar

Both caffeine and sugar are known to accelerate anxiety in people who suffer from it. I quit drinking pop (or soda as some people may call it) on a regular basis and noticed a difference. I will have my cup of coffee or tea in the morning and that’s really it. Drink water throughout the day.

Sleep ZZzzz…

Getting enough sleep will play a huge role in anxious outbursts. When we are tired, we get irritable and frustrated, which can lead to anxiety and panic attacks. Shoot for 8 hours. I’m a full time student, full time employee and sometime blogger so I know it’s hard to get 8 hours, but get as close as you can.

Essential Oils


My mother is the essential oils queen, and always tries to get me to use them. I finally started using this one “Stress Away” from Young Living about a year ago and it has saved my life. It is pretty pricey if you purchase it from Young Living, so I always find it on ebay for half the price. You can just rub it on your pressure points and the aroma helps calm you down. You can also diffuse it, if you have an oil diffuser.
