My Cold Weather Essentials

Unfortunately, it’s that time of year. If you live somewhere that experiences all seasons, like I do, you’ve noticed the weather change. I put together some of my favorite things to get through the cold weather blues.

1. Cute Scarves

My stepdad makes the ones pictured, you can find him on instagram @travelingyarnsman

2. A beanie

or toboggan, as we say in West Virginia. It is really important in the winter time to keep your head warm. I got this cute beanie on sale at Old Navy!

3. Good Booties

Not only are these cute, they are heavy-duty enough for the winter weather. I got these cuties at Urban Outfitters.

4. A good lotion / body butter

two of my favorites are First Aid Beauty Ulta Repair Cream and The Righteous Butter by Soap & Glory – both of these are amazing for sensitive skin.

5. Moisturizing Face Primer

This is the time of year I switch from my mattifying primer to a moisturizing primer. This type of primer will help you lock in moisture and keep your makeup looking fresh. Two I have been using are the Too Faced Hangover RX and Bare Minerals Prep Step Moisture Lock.. I’m not sure if this one was discontinued or what, I found it at Marshalls for $3.99 and when I googled it the only place that sells it is QVC for $35, so check out your local Marshalls or TJ Maxx!

6. Eye Cream

The driest part of my face is under my eyes, weird I know. Eye cream also serves multiple purposes such as anti-aging and wrinkle prevention. I cannot live with out it. I’m currently using the Chamomile Eye Cream from Mario Badescu.

7. Highlighter

Don’t get me wrong. glowing skin is good all year round. But in the winter when you skin starts looking dull, highlighter is a way to bring it back to life. These are some that I have picked up recently. Becca Cosmetics Moonstone Highlighter and Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go
