My Top Foundations – Oily/Combo Skin

image12

I’ve tried many many different foundations over the past few years trying to find one that actually works for my oily/combo skin, but also works for my sensitive skin and doesn’t break me out. Most heavy matte foundations did break me out. Over the last year I have finally found a few that work wonders for me.

My needs for a foundation: Long-wearing (I work 9 hour shifts at work), demi-matte (not too matte, not too dewy), light weight, and medium coverage. I can’t stand when a foundation is too heavy it will make me want to immediately wash it off. And even though I do have some imperfections, I’m not a full coverage girl.

Here are the foundations that work for me:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation

I’m in the shade Cool Beige for this one and it is a new addition to my collection. I did a full review for this foundation on my YouTube channel as well. This foundation does have a nice demi-matte finish and looks great on the skin. It does cling to dry patches if you have drier skin, so you may want to use a hydrating primer underneath. I wish it was a little more long-wearing, it does start to fade after about 6 hours. This foundation retails for $25.00 for 0.32 oz. You can find it here: http://www.sephora.com/stick-foundation-P410504?skuId=1852227&icid2=anastasia_whatsnew_us_carousel:p410504

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation

THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL! I literally don’t have a single complaint about this foundation. It’s super light weight, feels like you aren’t even wearing foundation. It keeps me from getting oily but isn’t a “flat matte”. It does have SPF 15, which for me is a bonus because I do not want wrinkles girl. This lasts a full shift at work. I’m currently in the shade Light Neutral, but will probably be purchasing a shade lighter for winter because I’m a pale bunny. This foundation retails for $39.00 for 1 oz. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Too faced is one of my favorite brands, and they hit it out of the park with this one. It is also pretty light weight and looks like skin. It is not as long wearing as the tarte, you’ll get about 6 hours out of this. It also isn’t matte, it’s more of a satin finish so I do have to blot a couple of times throughout the day. This foundation is infused with hyaluronic acid and coconut water to help hydrate the skin. This is also $39.00 for 1 oz and can be found here: http://www.sephora.com/born-this-way-P397517?skuId=1711936&icid2=products%20grid%3Ap397517

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfecter

Aka longest title ever. I absolutely love this! (obviously) It has a little bit more coverage than a tinted moisturizer but has the same exact light-weight feel. I use this one days where I don’t need as much coverage or just want something to even out my skin. It is matte, but not dull. It also last about 7-8 hours. The only issue I have with this is the lack of shade variety. I use the shade light but if you have deep skin tone or very fair skin it may be harder to find a shade to match you. This retails for $34.00 for 1.3 oz and can be found here:http://www.sephora.com/naked-skin-one-done-hybrid-complexion-perfector-P407434?skuId=1814508&icid2=ud_lp_ultradef_carousel:p407434

P.s. These are all cruelty-free, since I am making that change I’m glad I’ll be able to continue to re-purchase these. I am in need of a new cruelty-free mattifying primer so if you have any recommendations please let me know 🙂
